How To Learn A Foreign Language?

Fundamental principles: Foreign Language courses are not like other courses so you must never procrastinate. Any postponement is deemed as a failure in a foreign language course where you need to devote a minimum of 15 minutes a day for a minimum of 3 hours a week. Devote any additional time in pursuing your language lessons but not more than 45 minutes per session.

Divide your lessons into many smaller sessions. If you are serious about passing the examination then attend classes regularly. Run through your past learning on a regular basis as this is going to improve your learning for example check out your stock of vocabulary. Hints given blow would make your attempt to learn the foreign language easier.

Look up only those words which cannot even be guessed or determined based on context.

Read the language in small bits daily especially from the text book.

Move on to talking: Everyone makes mistakes so listen to what others are saying and start to talk. Practice the foreign language by talking loudly to yourself, or communicating with your friends in the same class or even with your own dog or cat at home.

Writing: Hone your writing skills everyday till you no longer fumble.

Ask a friend to dictate a passage of the language and then later check it for accuracy.

Miscellany: Study the foreign language with a positive frame of mind, have pre-set objectives and goals. Make sure you are fully aware of what your goals are and how to reach there. {1.f you need help get it and do not be afraid to ask questions or ask for help for fear of sounding stupid, or being embarrassed.} 1.Never be scared or embarrassed to ask for help when you need it and ask questions when you do not understand something, because it is a natural process of learning {2.Get audio tapes of the language and listen to them or make you own tapes and listened to yourself in order to perfect your pronunciation.} 2. 3.Make colored flash cards which help you to grow vocabulary where different colors are used to convey genders and words like nouns, verbs and adjectives, etc. 4.If you practice studying in groups, you can make good friends with your classmates which would be eager to help you out.
